Tempest Tossed is a chamber adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, where the action of the play is exquisitely focused with original music by music director Flavio Gaete as well as a magical Butoh inspired movement lead by Yoshiko Usami. Directed again by Janina Picard, the performance creates an immersive island where Caliban’s mother, the powerful witch Sycorax, is finally given a voice, providing a fresh take in this story of justice, restoration, freedom and forgiveness. The cast of seven performers includes Anna Bikales, Jacquie Bonnet, Blake Brundy, Craig Bacon, Flavio Gaete, and Clara Tristan.

Hide Your Fires Project Begins!

: Interdisciplinary & Immersive Exploration

Between 2017 and 2019, I was deeply involved in developing Hide Your Fires: Butoh Lady Macbeth, but we were forced to pause that journey due to the pandemic.
However, I never lost the desire to complete what we started—and I have always envisioned this work evolving with projections! This year, I like to bring it to life!!! New Adventure begins!
